Traffic Management

Expanding the infrastructure is proving to be becoming increasingly harder. Financial means are limited, as is the spatial capacity available. As a result, we need to optimally utilize the existing infrastructure in order to be able to cope with traffic growth.

This is what traffic management is all about: optimally utilizing the available traffic infrastructure capacity. Compared to Transportation Demand Management (TDM), which focuses on the process that precedes transportation activity (choice of destination, choice of transport mode, departure time and choice for a specific route), traffic management focuses on the process of the actual (car) transportation.

Achieving this optimal utilization of the available infrastructure capacity can be done in the following two ways:

  • Increasing the traffic flow on road sections and intersections
  • Optimally spreading the traffic over the network

We can provide the following services:

  • Incident management
  • Regional planning of road constructions
  • Anti-icing policy
  • Cut-through traffic
